For Coinbase, one of the largest crypto exchanges, I led the product design of an internal compliance platform. The work centered on KYC and zero-state flows across both web and mobile.
I extended the existing design system to cover these new compliance surfaces, so the flows felt native to the wider product while meeting the demands of a highly regulated domain.

Internal compliance surfaces rarely get the same care as the consumer app. The brief was to bring KYC and zero-state flows up to that standard — trustworthy, legible, and unmistakably part of the wider product, even under heavy regulatory constraints.
In a regulated flow, a blank screen is a blocker. Zero states were designed to explain what is needed and why, and security prompts were framed as clear, ranked actions — update password, upgrade 2FA — so people always had an obvious, safe path forward.
Rather than invent new patterns, I extended Coinbase's existing design system to cover the compliance surfaces. New components inherited established behavior and accessibility, so the flows felt native and reviewers could trust them at a glance.
