Senior Product Designer·Design systems
Wood Mackenzie provides data and analytics for the energy sector. I designed and led development of a multi-platform design system that unified their analytics products.
Alongside the system I refined existing components and interactions, worked through data-visualisation and dashboard patterns including Mapbox-based views, and created the documentation and learn center that keep design and engineering aligned.

Wood Mackenzie's teams shipped data-heavy tools on different stacks and timelines. The work was to unify them behind one multi-platform design system, so a chart, a table, or a map behaved the same way whichever product you opened.

Analysts don't just read numbers, they compare them. Dashboards, Mapbox views, and data-visualisation components were built around scannable hierarchy and consistent units, so patterns surface quickly and the map and the metrics tell the same story.

The library was structured with atomic design — atoms and molecules composing into larger components — each documented with component, usage, and live examples. Naming and structure were deliberate so the system stayed navigable as it grew.

A component is only trustworthy when its edges are specified: row heights, padding, truncation, hover, reordering, pagination. I documented that anatomy and built a learn center around it, so engineers could implement precisely and new designers could onboard themselves.
